School visits

The Archbishop’s Palace and garden is a rich educational resource and over the next 5 years the education team will be devising cross curricular activities and workshops for all ages for schools and other groups, as well as providing informal learning opportunities for families and children throughout the year. The Great Hall is alive with stories and history; the plantings in the garden reflect this and the site is a wonderful place to learn, reflect and explore in safety. The education staff and volunteer team are warm, welcoming and friendly with a wealth of experience in organising events.

Forthcoming dates for informal learning events can be found here.

Groups requesting organized tours, and activities and education days dmust book at least two weeks prior to their visit and it may be combined with a Minster visit. Coaches can drop off on Church Street and we provide a room to eat lunch in wet weather.
